Hairdressers are supposed to be chatty, right?
I'm not chatty by nature. I can be quite personable and hold up my end of things if need be, but really it's not my default setting. I've always (when I've been on the consumer side of things) appreciated a hairdresser who was comfortable working in silence.
I have this little fantasy of having a varied and interesting selection of reading material available for my clients who'd rather not be chatted with. I wonder, however, how many people would rather read than chat? And what would they want to read?
