After a few days with cloth diapers I know much better what I like and need. I'm going to need different diapers. Going from Pampers to prefolds is a pretty big step. I need an intermediate level.
The bulkiness gets to me. My favorite outfits don't fit over my inexpertly fashioned excrement catcher. How shallow is that, that I consider giving up on cloth diapering because I don't like the way it looks?
The other thing that happens is that Miriam, no fan of wetness even in a sposie, gets upset the instant she feels moisture on her precious butt.
So, I need something slim: a fitted diaper, made of something super absorbent, like hemp. A liner or doubler with fleece against her skin. Snaps instead of velcro and adjustable to a wide range of sizes would be a plus.
I was thinking these. The hemp makes them absorbent without being bulky and they fit a range of sizes. I'm admit, I am balking at the price. Laundry is notoriously slow at this house; I'd need a lot of diapers to make it worth it.
I have a lot of leftover yarn that's 85% wool and 15% mohair. Is this an appropriate content for a soaker?
