Biography

My name is Kateri, which I pronounce kuh-TEER-ee, if you were wondering.

I have an 8 year old daughter who I call E. I placed her for adoption when she was two days old. I have killed thousands of trees writing about that experience.

I am a mother to a 4 year old ray of sunshine/thundercloud, depending on the day and how much sleep we got the night before. Her name is Naomi. My new daughter Miriam was born Dec. 2005.

I am passionate about parenting. My fondest wish is for the world to be a place where mothers don't have to make difficult choices between their family and their work, where mothers can feel supported and competent, where becoming a mother is a celebration and a rite of passage, instead of the traumatic and isolating experience it so often is.
